The background on my computer these days reads one simple word: hustle. For some reason, I feel like this summer has been just straight balls out, and you know what? I saw a back to school commercial today. It isn't even the Fourth of July yet. Calm it down, Walmart. Calm it down. When I think of these brief summer months, I picture my heels dug into sand, desperately trying to slow time. It's not working. Summer never lasts long enough.

In June, the following occurred:
  • Loaded ten girls into a van and traveled to Okoboji for a four day cheer camp (which they totally rocked). Promptly realized that Minnesota was 18 miles away. Loaded ten girls back into the van to traveled to Minnesota for a plethora of selfies next to the sign. Checked "Travel to Minnesota" off of Life Bucket List. Briefly wondered why Minnesota was on my Life Bucket List in the first place.
  • Threw a first birthday for TT. Sat on the floor at 12:30 a.m. after cleaning the kitchen nightmare left over from said party, and shamelessly ate the rest of his cake. It turned my lips red and I was too tired to care. I've decided that next year, we're going out.
  • Attended a benefit with two of my "aunties" for Cousin Heather (find her blog HERE). "Drove" a covered wagon, "drove" a tractor, made friends with the bartender ... as if it would be any other way.
  • Porch Nights with BFF Suzy over and over. Let's reflect for a second: Is there anything better than a quiet summer night with twinkly lights, big laughs, and a cold drink? NoIdon'tthinkso.
  • Days and days and sweet days filled with play time and Tucker. I can't tell you how many balls I've pulled out from under the couch, how many times I've pulled him away from the toilet, or how many times I've told him to stop feeding his Cheerios to Pey-Pey. He's basically my favorite thing. [Disclaimer: I ADORE Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon and Brown Sugar bread, too. Tuck is more my favorite though. Just FYI.]

Here's hoping your June was fabulous, and that you relish every day in July. And boycott those $.19 notebooks at Walmart until August!!!

xoxo, B.
