The General and I were on the way home the other day and he had his basket of cars on his lap. He was digging through them - looking for something. The problem arose when he couldn't hold all of the cars that he wanted. He grew frustrated and began to cry - he doesn't quite have the words yet to voice his specific irritations. "Here," I reached my hand out behind me. "Let mommy hold a few." Promptly, he piled five into my much larger hand and then, found the car he was looking for at the bottom of the basket. He was a much happier boy after that, and now there are five cars in my cup holder.

I worked for awhile at school a couple of Saturdays ago, and one of my friends came in to sit in my room for a quick chat (because teachers can't stay away from school on the weekends, I guess). We spoke about a few things, and then she - without even meaning to, really - unloaded some heavy, heavy burdens. I sat and listened, and then tried to offer up some kind of advice. We laughed about a few things, but I think in the speaking of her heart, she felt a little more at ease.

Mary-Mary and Librarian Mandy and me? We've formed a trio at work - and literally, we're in constant contact. We've got this group chat that's about 838402 miles long, and a Facebook group message that spans months. Every single day we make ourselves do a Positivity Purge - we share everything positive that's happened to us since we last saw each other. It's super easy to get sucked into the crappy, you know? However - we also dump on each other. Kids are sick. Husbands being jerks. Struggles in the classroom. In the sharing with each other - the positive and the awful - the load is lessened.

Sometimes, carrying things is just hard. Whether they are toy cars or big hurts or daily truths - life can just be hard. The only way to ease the burden is to share it. And I promise, there are always people ready to help you - to share with you.

Remember: Seek out the sharers.

xoxo, B.

PS - This song has been on repeat at my house this entire snow day. I love it like I love you.

I love, love, love flannel sheets and I am really passionate about lists on post it notes and most of the time I'm sad that no one else is as excited as I am about Diet Mountain Dew. I also adore run-on sentences. And if you need an awesome virtual assistant, who is full of personality and really good jokes? Email me. I'm your girl.
