I’m craving a much-needed vacation and some adventure in my life. This long winter in Utah has overstayed its welcome. Spring fever has hit, and I can’t wait to get out of town for a good spring break trip. Ya know?

Friends, I have put together some of my favorite quotes about travel. I hope these inspire you, like they inspire me.

“Travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer” – Rick Steves

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.”- Anthony Bourdain

“Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.”― Jack Kerouac

“Every day, think as you wake up: Today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it.”- Dalai Lama

“I’m a big believer in winging it. I’m a big believer that you’re never going to find perfect city travel experience or the perfect meal without a constant willingness to experience a bad one. Letting the happy accident happen is what a lot of vacation itineraries miss, I think, and I’m always trying to push people to allow those things to happen rather than stick to some rigid itinerary.”- Anthony Bourdain

“If you’re brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello.”-Paulo Coehlo

“Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow.”― Anita Desai

“It seems that the more places I see and experience, the bigger I realize the world to be. The more I become aware of, the more I realize how relatively little I know of it, how many places I have still to go, how much more there is to learn.”- Anthony Bourdain

“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.”- Dalai Lama

“Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”― Gustav Flaubert

“Don’t be afraid to get lost, that’s where the best discoveries are made.”- Rick Steves

“People don’t take trips, trips take people.”― John Steinbeck

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life – and travel – leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks – on your body or on your heart – are beautiful. Often, though, they hurt.”- Anthony Bourdain

“Don’t tell me how educated you are; tell me how much you have traveled.”- unknown

“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” Maya Angelou

“Travel is rich with learning opportunities, and the ultimate sourvenir is a broader perspective.”― Rick Steves

“A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.” – John Steinbeck

“He who would travel happily must travel light.” – Antoine de Saint Exupéry

“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” – Unknown
